It's been a while when I wrote my last blog, but now I am back with a lot of things to share. Starting with the Indian cricket team, recent elections in Punjab, Bullish Sensex and the latest movie "Namaste London".
The recent elections in Punjab saw the state's Chief Minister Amrinder Singh led congress loss to Parkash Singh Badal led Shiromani Akali Dal(SAD). One of the factors to contributed to loss was inflation, which is not a boiling issue just in Punjab but in the whole nation. Congress govt. at the center should start thinking of some measures to reduce inflation, as this is going to hit them very soon.
I had a tough time watching the Sensex fell down few days back. But like all opportunists I played cool and bought some shares at a nice price. The result, I really feel pleased when I look my investment portfolio.
"Namaste London" starring Akhay Kumar and Katrina Kaif, was more like me watching one of my close neighborhood gabru jawan falling for an english mem. The movie reminded me of a lot of things, my village, punjabi culture, the way people are treated there and the best one, the way a guy looks at a girl, with his eyes in her eyes never to be taken away.

When hopes fell with wickets
Here comes the day everyone has been eagerly waiting for this year, India's first world cup match against the so called under dogs Bangladesh. Everyone expected India to win with a big margin here and there were no doubts of India not advancing to Super 8. The match started and India wickets started to fall like the recent fall in BSE. With every fall, whenever the new batsman came in, people had hopes that this one will last and then it was all the same sad story. First match gone and we were all caugh on camera burning effigies of Indian players for their dismal performance.
Second match we face Bermuda. Suddently every player in the Indian cricket team turns aggresive against the minnows and give the first timers a hard day on the field. India posted the highest ever score in World Cup history and Bermuda were beaten by a big margin.
Third match, the one that will decide India's future in this world cup. Thanks to early wickets we are able to restrict Sri Lanka to a decent today of 250 runs. But the all the aggresiveness shown in batting the other day was all gone. Everyone looked like he was trying his best not to stay on the wicket. I was then when hopes fell with wickets. The result we lost the crucial one.
Today is the all again an all-important match for the Indians. Not because our infamous heros we again on the field today but because it was the minnows against the minnows, Bangladesh Vs Bermuda. In case Bermuda wins this one Indian team is into the Super 8.
But after all this dismal performance in the tournament so far, does the Indian cricket team deserve a place in the Super 8. Looks like they are following our close neighbors, the Pakis and planning to come back home with them by the same flight :-).
